In 2019 the Minnesota Department of Education began revising the Knowledge and Competency Framework for Early Childhood Professionals to include the addition of three new components: addressing cultural responsibilities, trauma informed care and support for multilingual learners.
The Framework articulates the skills and abilities required by professionals working with children.
